Rolling Date Retirement

What is being done?

GRAX is ending support for the rolling date setting.

Why is GRAX retiring support for this feature?

This is not a widely used feature and not as intuitive compared to native Salesforce dynamic queries such as "Last X Days".

How does this impact me?

Customers who currently have backup or archive jobs leveraging the rolling date setting do not need to do anything. They will continue to run as expected. However, if an issue or Salesforce limit arises, we will advise you to switch to a supported filter/query option.

What is the recommended workaround?

For backups, you can use the date filter along with the GRAX scheduling options to achieve your desired level of frequency. For most backups, we recommend simply choosing a frequency (daily, weekly etc) and setting the Incremental toggle.

For archives, we recommend using the Advanced filter option.

GRAX will end support for this feature in the Spring of 2022. This may be accelerated if changes are needed to protect the integrity of the GRAX service, or if third parties retire a piece of their service which makes the feature unavailable. This will be communicated and the retirement timing will be updated in advance.
